These instructions describe the procedure for configuring
the Alfa & Ariss SecureW2 client to allow connection the
Brooklyn College wireless network.
To begin, click Start > Settings
> Control Panel.

In Control Panel, select Network Connections
and double click on it.

Right-Click on your wireless network connection
and select Properties.

Under the General section, check the
both boxes: Show icon in notification area when connected.
Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity.
Click on the Wireless Networks tab.

On the Wireless Networks tab make sure
the Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings
is
checked. Under the Preferred networks section, choose
BC-WiFi and click on the Properties tab.

In the Association section, in the Network
Authentication drop down box, choose Open. In the
Data encryption drop down box, choose WEP. Check
The Key is provided for me automatically box.
Click the Authentication tab.
In the Authentication section, check
the Enable IEEE 802.1x box, and in the EAP type:
drop down box choose SecureW2. Make sure no other box
is checked. Click the Properties tab.

On the Profile window under the Profile:
drop down box, click the Configure tab.

On the Connection window no options are
checked. Click the Certificates tab

Click verify server certificates option,
then the Authentication tab.

On the Select Authentication Method,
drop down Window make sure PAP is selected. Click User
account tab

Check the Prompt user for credentials
option, then click the Advanced tab.

Check Allow users to setup new connections
option. Click OK tab until all windows close.

You should now see, the Click here…‘yellow
bubble’ click on it.

Enter your Username (which is everything
before the “@” on your Brooklyn College email address)
and Password and then click the OK tab
You should now see, the Click here to process
…‘yellow bubble’ click on it

Enter your Username (which is everything
before the @ on your Brooklyn College email address)
and Password and then click the OK tab

Click the Install All Certificates tab

Click the OK tab

If you see Authentication
succeeded, then you are logged on.
You should now see, the Connected to: BC-WiFi
yellow bubble. You should be able to browse the Internet
now.
